Try to remember to skip lines or doublespace. You only have to write 2 of the body paragraphs.

Each body will probably start with "One purpose of festivals was to . . ."
Nuthin fancy just get the basics down now.

It's just a rough draft. We need to make sure you understand how to introduce and use the documents to prove your topic sentence.

Your thesis will probably just look like: "The purposes of these festivals was to X, to Y, and to enforce gender roles." but You don't have to write the Gender roles paragraph.

Essay 1 Help

Use the Lib/Con stuff from class. Avoid a Con paragraph and a lib paragraph.

Try to lump several of those categories together and contrast Libs and cons in each one. Example: French Revolution/Enlightenment/rights etc in a single paragraph and connect them somehow.

Secondly, i'd go to the text book. Section 1 covers liberalism (pages 659-662) and section 2 covers conservatism (pages 662-663).

Thirdly, i'd glance over the readings from Burke / Metternich and pick out a couple of quotations that jump out at you.

warning:  don't just quote my sheet. Put it in your own words and thoughts.
